Yes. Everything is tested, from the cover to the core. The fabric is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified: it is tested for harmful substances, so nothing harmful reaches your dog’s skin, even after hours of lying on it. The foam core is CertiPUR® certified: made without heavy metals or phthalates and tested for very low emissions, so the air your dog breathes with his nose on the bed stays clean. That makes Kumo a great choice for dogs with sensitive skin, allergies or dermatitis.
The mattress is memory foam: a high-density top layer (40 kg/m³) over a firm support base, 9 to 11 cm thick depending on size. It moulds to your dog’s body, spreads the weight evenly and takes pressure off hips and elbows, while the flat surface lets your dog stretch out fully. That is why it works so well for hip dysplasia, joint problems, senior dogs and growing puppies.
Tested to professional standards: 105,000 Martindale abrasion cycles, pilling grade 4–5, colour fastness 4–5, bursting strength over 700 kPa and seam stability of 1 mm. The tight weave is scratch-resistant, so the cover keeps its look through daily use, whatever the size of your dog. It resists pilling and fading, so the bed looks as good in year three as on day one.
The cover is fully removable and machine washable (cold wash recommended). The tight weave stops hair getting trapped, so it brushes away easily. Spare covers are sold separately, so you can swap in a fresh one while the other is in the wash and keep the bed looking new for longer.
Every bed is produced in Italy by specialists in premium bedding, applying the same expertise used for high-end mattresses for people, adapted specifically for dogs. The wooden structures are made by local manufacturers. A short supply chain means closer control of materials, craftsmanship and finishing quality, and lower transport distances.
